ANTENATAL CLINICS

Please see your GP prior to booking your appointment with the mid-wife. Pre-natal counselling is available with a doctor or midwife.

CHILD HEALTH

The Health  Visitor will contact you and arrange an appointment. They are held on Fridays between 10-12 am for routine baby checks and vaccinations. Baby weighing clinics are held on Tuesdays between 2-4pm no appointment required.

IMMUNISATIONS

We offer all  vaccinations. We are a registered Yellow Fever Centre. Please contact reception or discuss with a practice nurse or doctor.

FLU CLINICS

Flu vaccinations are offered to all patients over 65 and to all diabetics, certain asthmatics, those with heart disease, renal and splenectomy patients. Please contact reception from the end of October to make an appointment.

CONTRACEPTIVE SERVICES

Routine appointments can be booked with the Nurses for contraception. Emergency contraception is always available but you need to make reception aware of this requirement. This can be discussed in private.

ASTHMA

You can see a doctor or specialist asthma nurse by booking an appointment at reception.

CHRONIC AIRWAYS DISEASE

This is a nurse led clinic held at various times. Appointments  are by

invitation. There is also a  Spirometry service run by a Specialist nurse together with the Asthma nurse.

CORONARY HEART DISEASE

We run a nurse-led Coronary Heart Disease  clinic, by invitation, for general reviews. 

HYPERTENSION CLINIC

We have a nurse-led Hypertension Clinic. By appointment only.

DIABETES

There is a joint doctor/Nurse Clinic for routine reviews. Patients  known to have diabetes are invited to attend.

WEIGHT CLINIC

This is held on a Tuesday. Please discuss with your doctor or you can self-refer. Please ask at reception.

COUNSELLING SERVICE

Coral Greville is our practice Counsellor who is available for short-term

counselling. All appointments are made after following discussion with your

doctor.

MINOR SURGERY

All doctors undertake minor surgery. Please discuss with your GP prior to

making a booking.

By appointment only Monday –Friday 8.30-12.30.

If you feel you could benefit from an appointment, please speak with your GP, nurse or surgery reception.

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to contact the surgery and inform them of your travel details. The details will then be passed onto the Nurse who will inform the Reception Staff which vaccinations you requrie.

Reception will then contact you to make an appointment with the practice nurse.

This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

Please note:

Due to the cost of Travel Vaccines we are not able to administer the vaccine until full payment has been made by the patient. You will be asked by the Nurse to show your receipt of payment prior to the Injection being given.

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
